On-Device Physical Authentication and Display Interface
Provides secure, on-device authentication and standalone login use-cases to facilitate secure localized authentication via a built-in physical keypad (pin-pad) and an OLED display screen. Requires users to enter passwords directly on the device, enables on-screen navigation and display of information (including device information and the current firmware version by pressing the Enter button after boot or a firmware update), features an on-device selection menu that includes a 'Connect' option to mount the drive onto a computer, and supports separate administrator and user passwords to enable flexible and secure access control.
02
Brute Force Protection and Self-Destruct Mechanism
Protects data against brute force attacks by utilizing a self-destruct mechanism that automatically wipes all data on the drive and resets the device to factory settings after 20 consecutive incorrect password attempts. Operates with this capability enabled by default, preventing it from being disabled and requiring device reinitialization upon its next use. Powers off the device automatically after every 5 consecutive incorrect attempts (requiring the user to press the Power button to continue entry), and provides real-time on-screen feedback scrolling 'Incorrect Password' with the current failed attempt count, displaying warnings at 17 and 18 attempts, a final warning at 19 attempts, and a final destruct message after the 20th attempt.
03
Data Erasure, Formatting, and Configuration Tools
Provides complete data erasure and configuration tools, including a Zeroize function to securely erase all files on the drive as an alternative to standard reformatting, and an encryption key regeneration capability which automatically and securely wipes all data stored on the drive. Retains the device password and configuration settings even after the drive is reformatted to ensure only user files are erased. Supports device formatting via the dedicated K300 Formatter Tool (including post-wipe reformatting after a self-destruct or key regeneration process), supports formatting to various file systems including FAT32, NTFS, exFAT, and ext4, and enables configuration to mount as either a Fixed Disk or a Removable Disk to provide compatibility with applications requiring specific drive types.
04
Cryptographic Standards and Regulatory Compliance
Secures data using onboard hardware-based FIPS 197 Approved Algorithms, including AES (Certificate #5695) and SHS (Certificate #4565), and provides a Declaration of Conformity certificate verifying compliance.
05
Hardware Storage, Form Factor, and Interface Performance
Functions as a hardware-encrypted micro solid-state drive (SSD) and USB flash drive to deliver secure, portable storage, offering storage capacities of 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Achieves sequential read speeds up to 220 MB/s for all capacities, and maximum sequential write speeds up to 100 MB/s for 8GB to 32GB models and up to 200 MB/s for 64GB to 256GB models, while supporting USB 3.0 for high-speed data transfer with backward compatibility with USB 2.0.
