Z1 SecureMail ONE by Zertificon Solutions is a gateway designed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with up to 100 users. It automates email encryption and signing, ensuring secure and compliant business communication. Z1 SecureMail ONE includes only Active licenses, which provide users with personal certificates and access to all functions. It supports the automatic import of users and groups from Active Directory (AD) and LDAP directories. The solution is delivered as an ISO file and can be installed on-premises or in the cloud on a virtual machine. It operates on a hardened Linux-Debian operating system, which has been reduced to essential functions for operating the software. The Z1 Appliance Management Software manages software and security updates, which can be installed with one click via the web-based administration interface. Z1 SecureMail ONE includes a preconfigured onboard firewall to protect against unauthorized access. The solution supports high availability clusters and distributed installations, allowing multiple virtual machines to run all or certain components on separate machines in different networks. It integrates with all standard SMTP/TLS mail servers and can be used in hybrid scenarios with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. The solution follows the gateway concept and is typically installed centrally in the email infrastructure between the mail server and the receiving system, usually the firewall. All emails are processed centrally according to configured rules, and no installations on employee PCs are necessary.
