USB Erase is a portable, self-contained data sanitization solution designed for secure, on-site data deletion. Deployed via bootable USB drives created with the Ziperase Boot Media Creator application, the system operates entirely offline without requiring an internet or network connection. It consolidates all necessary software, licensing, configuration, and reporting tools onto a single USB stick to facilitate the erasure of devices such as laptops, desktops, servers, and individual drives. The solution is designed to allow for the simultaneous processing of multiple devices, with all operations running directly from the portable media.
The software performs compliant data erasure for both HDDs and SSDs across a range of storage interfaces, including ATA, NVMe, SATA, and RAID setups. Its technical capabilities include automated RAID dismantling, circumvention of security frozen states, and support for non-standard block sizes. In addition to erasure, the system conducts hardware diagnostics and features customizable data collection fields. For auditing and regulatory compliance, it automatically generates digitally signed, tamper-proof certificates containing full system details for each processed device, which are centrally stored on the USB drive.
