Tellaro is a comprehensive software suite and hardware appliance that provides application-level encryption, tokenization, public key infrastructure (PKI) management, digital signature management, and strong authentication. The solution acts as a secure intermediary between applications and databases to encrypt, decrypt, and tokenize sensitive data such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Primary Account Numbers (PANs) without storing unencrypted data in cleartext.
The platform relies heavily on hardware-based cryptography, utilizing an onboard FIPS 140-2 Level 2 validated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) by default, with an option to upgrade to a FIPS 140-2 Level 3 Hardware Security Module (HSM). Additionally, Tellaro includes a built-in EJBCA server to issue and manage digital certificates, supports advanced cryptographic algorithms like Elliptic Curve DSA, and implements protocols such as DUKPT for end-to-end encryption in card-present transactions.
