SidePass is a compact, external USB capacitive fingerprint reader designed to integrate biometric authentication into organizational login processes. The cordless hardware device connects via USB 2.0 Type A or Type C ports and features a 7.8mm by 7.8mm sensor capture area, scanning fingerprint images at a resolution of 113 x 115 pixels (373 DPI). It operates with low power requirements, consuming less than 25 mA at 5 to 5.5 volts during the imaging process.
The reader utilizes Windows Biometric Framework (WBF) drivers for plug-and-play installation directly via Windows Update. It is officially qualified with the Microsoft Hello-Ready mark and provides native compatibility with Windows 10 and 11, including Windows Hello, Windows Hello for Business, and Microsoft Passport. SidePass enables multi-finger enrollment and management directly through native Windows settings without requiring third-party software. The device is not compatible with Apple products.
