GuardKnox's Secure SOA Framework is a patented software middleware solution designed for automotive cybersecurity and managing the full software lifecycle in Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs). It provides a secure foundation for service-oriented architectures, enabling the implementation of cybersecurity measures and facilitating the development of software-defined vehicles. The framework abstracts vehicle and cloud applications (software services) and operating systems from the underlying vehicle hardware, allowing for streamlined software management across the vehicle. It enables modeling, development, and testing of new software features, updates, or patches independent of hardware, accelerating time to market. The Secure SOA Framework supports multiple parallel operating systems like Linux, Android, and AUTOSAR through separate partitions (nodes) by using a hypervisor to share a common hardware platform. It builds mixed-criticality environments where every automotive application is provided with the performance and security characteristics required. The framework decouples functionalities from hardware and implements a Zonal Architecture, allowing for flexible configuration and integration of both legacy and next-generation components in the same vehicle. It enables any ECU, domain controller, or gateway to serve as a vehicle-wide computing platform, supporting plug-and-play ECUs, a service discovery protocol, and a catalog of software functionalities that OEMs can choose as part of their factory-installed features.
