SafeConsole is DataLocker's centralized management platform for encrypted USB devices, external hard drives, and virtual drives, designed for remote administration and policy enforcement across enterprise deployments. The platform provides administrators with capabilities to lock, wipe, reset, or disable devices remotely; enforce AES-256 encryption and organization-wide security policies including password requirements, brute-force protection, read-only mode, and write-protection; and apply device-specific rules such as data geofencing and zone-based access control via ZoneBuilder to restrict access based on geographic location or trusted networks. Authentication options include two-factor authentication via server connections or computer certificates, optional Single Sign-On (SSO), and Active Directory integration. SafeConsole maintains comprehensive audit logs for compliance tracking, supports SIEM logging for enterprise security monitoring, and aligns with regulatory frameworks including HIPAA, GDPR, SOC2, PCI-DSS, and CMMC. The platform supports both on-premise and cloud-based (SaaS) deployments and offers an optional Windows-based portable agent and management agent for standalone unlocks and remote deployment across organizational endpoints.
SafeConsole's functionality is organized into modules: USB Device Management delivers visibility and control over encrypted USB drives; Anti-Malware incorporates Trellix Enterprise Anti-Malware to operate directly on encrypted devices, scanning for viruses, ransomware, trojans, worms, and other threats with automatic definition updates, real-time reporting, quarantine or destruction options, and always-on protection; PortBlocker enforces USB access control with customizable policies and real-time auditing; and USB Certified Data Erasure performs cryptographic key destruction aligned with NIST SP 800-88, generating tamper-proof erasure certificates for compliance and lifecycle management. The platform extends to virtual drive encryption through SafeCrypt, a client-side module that creates AES-256 encrypted virtual drives for local storage, network shares, and cloud services including Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive, with password protection, encrypted file names, optional two-factor authentication, and read-only mode on Windows and macOS. SafeConsole integrates with data loss prevention, asset management, and other security systems through asset tag matching and device location tracking.
