Runtime System is an out-of-the-box package that runs in the background as a service or daemon and manages the connection between a protected application and a valid license. It supports various licensing models, including hardware dongles, system-bound licenses, and cloud-based licenses, and handles license availability, usage tracking, and distribution of licenses to network clients when operating on a license server in a LAN or WAN.
The Runtime System is natively available for Windows, Linux, and macOS, with the ability to provide modified versions for custom Linux distributions or other operating systems such as Android. It can be supplied with source code under NDA for customer adaptation, and it is designed to be backward compatible while prioritizing stability and ongoing security enhancements.
