KETS Quantum Security's Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) is a hardware-based security solution that distributes cryptographic keys using the principles of quantum mechanics. By encoding digital keys bit-by-bit into single photons, the system utilizes physical laws, such as Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, to provide key exchange that automatically detects eavesdropping and prevents unauthorized copying. The technology is designed to protect data streams across telecommunications, critical infrastructure, defense, and data centers against emerging computational threats, including "harvest now, decrypt later" attacks.
The QKD technology is delivered in multiple chip-based form factors, ranging from packaged Tx and Rx chips to sub-systems and complete embeddable solutions. Operating at 1550nm, the monolithic design supports direct printed circuit board (PCB) integration with RF and fiber interfaces. Complete standalone systems require two single-mode fibers for the quantum channel and synchronization, and they include built-in software post-processing algorithms to meet security proofs, accessible via ETSI014, SNMP, or a proprietary interface.
