Xiphera's Pseudorandom Number Generator (PRNG) is a high-speed IP core designed for applications requiring random data, such as generating session-specific secret key material in core network routers. The PRNG IP cores are based on the CTR_DRBG standard defined in SP800-90A with 256-bit AES and have received CAVP validation from the American NIST. Xiphera offers two variants: a balanced variant (XIP8103B) that achieves throughput in the gigabits per second (Gbps) range, and a high-speed variant (XIP8103H) that outputs random data at tens of gigabits per second. Both PRNG IP cores require periodic re-seeding with fresh randomness from a full entropy source, such as Xiphera's TRNG IP core.
