Passware Kit Forensic is a software tool that recovers passwords and decrypts data from various sources. It can detect encrypted files on a system, recover or reset Windows and macOS user account passwords, and access data from mobile device backups. The software supports password recovery for over 300 file types and full-disk encryption systems, including BitLocker, FileVault, TrueCrypt, and VeraCrypt. It performs these recovery operations using dictionary, brute-force, and customizable attacks, which can be accelerated with GPUs and other hardware. The tool can also distribute recovery tasks across multiple computers, acquire and analyze live system memory to extract encryption keys, recover stored website and browser passwords, and generate reports of all recovered credentials.
