The Port Authority 288 is a hardware-based out-of-band management device designed to provide secure access to network elements such as routers, firewalls, and VOIP switches during network disruptions. It features an integrated secure modem and network SSH capabilities to ensure continuous management access.
The device incorporates built-in two-factor authentication, including the ability to authenticate RSA Secure ID tokens even without an active network connection. Additionally, it supports tokenless two-factor authentication when used in conjunction with client-side PA222 devices.
