MyWorkDrive is a remote file access platform that provides a unified interface to existing file storage without requiring data migration. Deployed as a Windows Server add-on, the system encapsulates SMB file shares, enabling access to on-premises Windows File Servers, NAS, and cloud repositories like Azure Files and S3-compatible storage over HTTPS. This architecture functions as an alternative to traditional VPNs, allowing data to remain on an organization's existing infrastructure. Users connect to files through a web browser, a mapped desktop drive for Windows and macOS, or mobile applications.
The platform integrates with identity providers including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and SAML SSO to natively enforce existing NTFS permissions, access control lists, and security groups. It supports concurrent access with SMB file locking and facilitates real-time document co-editing through integrations with Microsoft Office Online and ONLYOFFICE. Technical capabilities include high-availability clustering, Data Leak Prevention (DLP) controls such as watermarking and device approval, multi-factor authentication, and the generation of unified audit logs that can be exported to SIEM platforms.
