MetaDefender Media Validation Agent is a software-based solution designed to enforce security policies for removable media in air-gapped and secure environments. It functions as a scan validation technology by blocking access to USB drives and other removable media devices until they are processed by a MetaDefender Kiosk. This requirement acts as a second layer of defense by making Kiosk processing a mandatory condition before media can be used on an endpoint.
The mandatory processing through the Kiosk ensures that malicious files are blocked or removed and sensitive data is redacted based on configured policies. Following this procedure, only the verified files are accessible to the user. Any media that has not been successfully processed by the Kiosk is entirely blocked, preventing unauthorized or unsecure devices from being used within the protected environment.
