OPSWAT MetaDefender IT Access is a secure access solution based on a zero-trust, Software-Defined Perimeter (SDP) model that manages connections from endpoints to cloud and legacy applications. Its technical purpose is to prevent compromised or non-compliant devices—including employee, guest, BYOD, and IoT endpoints—from accessing local networks and SaaS applications. The system utilizes the MetaDefender Endpoint agent to perform deep endpoint inspections prior to granting access, assessing factors such as operating system levels, vulnerabilities, patch management, and encryption status. Based on these pre-connection compliance checks, the platform enforces access policies, provides dynamic network segmentation, and blocks high-risk devices.
Available for both on-premises and cloud deployments, the platform is administered through the My OPSWAT Central Management console. This centralized system provides administrators with device visibility and telemetry, including device health, system information, and public IP addresses. The solution also supports automated self-remediation for non-compliant devices and logs user activity to facilitate security auditing. Management functions include reporting on product instance health, license status, connection states, and audit trails across the deployment. Feature availability can vary depending on the selected deployment model.
