MetaDefender ICAP Server by OPSWAT is a connector solution that functions as an interface layer for network infrastructure such as Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), proxies, and Network Attached Storage (NAS). It uses the Internet Content Adaptation Protocol (ICAP) to intercept file-based traffic, including HTTP and decrypted SSL/TLS, and offloads files for security analysis. The system is designed to provide automated threat prevention against file-borne threats by inspecting, blocking, or sanitizing files before they enter or leave a network.
To analyze content, the server connects to MetaDefender Core to apply technologies including multiscanning, Content Disarm and Reconstruction (CDR), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), vulnerability assessment, and sandbox analysis. MetaDefender ICAP Server can be deployed on Windows or Linux operating systems in on-premises, cloud-hosted, or air-gapped environments. The system includes an administrative dashboard for monitoring and logging and can be centrally managed through the OPSWAT Central Management platform.
