MetaDefender ICAP Cloud is a cloud-based, software-as-a-service (SaaS) security solution for file-borne threat detection and prevention. As a fully managed service, it utilizes the ICAP protocol to intercept, inspect, and filter content moving through networks in real-time. The system is designed to integrate with existing ICAP-enabled infrastructure, including proxies and web application firewalls, without requiring on-premises hardware. Its architecture is engineered for high-volume, low-latency processing and features multi-node redundancy, disaster recovery, and regional controls to support data privacy and regulatory compliance.
The platform integrates multiple security technologies, including multiscanning with over 20 antivirus engines, Deep Content Disarm and Reconstruction (CDR), adaptive sandboxing, and proactive Data Loss Prevention (DLP). These capabilities are used to identify zero-day threats, sanitize over 200 file formats by reconstructing them, and automatically redact sensitive information such as PII and PCI across various file types. This provides automated threat mitigation for incoming ICAP requests for data exchanged between cloud-hosted environments and external services.
