MetaDefender Access is a zero-trust network access and endpoint compliance platform that secures connections to on-premises, cloud, corporate (IT), and industrial (OT) assets. Functioning as both a Network Access Control (NAC) system and a secure remote access solution, it manages managed devices, bring-your-own-device (BYOD) endpoints, and IoT systems. The platform utilizes a Software Defined Perimeter (SDP) to create encrypted communication channels as a VPN alternative and integrates with identity access management solutions to facilitate multi-factor authentication (MFA) and SAML-based authentication.
The system enforces security policies by assessing endpoint posture before granting access, evaluating devices based on OS-level configurations, active security software, geolocation, and patch levels for third-party applications. For network access control, it uses 802.1x authentication and RADIUS processing to enable dynamic network segmentation. Deployable as a cloud service or on-premises, the platform includes centralized dashboards and automated self-remediation workflows. A specialized version, MetaDefender OT Access, is available as an on-premise deployment for OT environments to provide granular control over both IT and native OT protocols.
