Liveness is a biometric verification product that uses algorithms to analyze data from biometric sensors to determine whether the source is a live person or a reproduction. The product detects whether someone is attempting to use manipulated images or representations to fraudulently bypass verification processes. It operates in two modes: active liveness, which requests the user to perform actions such as smiling, blinking, or moving their eyes that cannot be easily replicated with falsified materials, and passive liveness, which detects falsifications without user interaction by employing detector algorithms that analyze received images for behaviors divergent from natural patterns and indicators of static images. The product prevents identity fraud by evaluating whether an individual is physically present during a verification process or attempting to use static images. Liveness Passive is available for integration via API for facial biometric verification and proof of life processes.
