IronKey EMS Cloud is a cloud-hosted management platform that provides centralized control of IronKey encrypted storage devices through a web-based console. The service enables administrators to perform device activation, password reset, remote detonation, recommissioning, and other management functions, including the issuance of Silver Bullet commands to supported devices. The platform is deployed in SSAE16 SOC-2 Type II certified data centers located in California, Virginia, and Kansas City, Kansas, operating as a single-tenant environment for each customer. No user data from the storage devices is stored in the cloud; only the management console itself is hosted, with the SOC-2 Type II certifications supporting controls for security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
The platform previously supported legacy device models including S100, S200, D200, S250, D250, W500, W700, and W700-SC, though activation and management capabilities for these models were phased out with full service shutdown completed as of January 1, 2023. Remaining active licenses for these legacy devices could be transferred to DataLocker's SafeConsole Management system following the shutdown.
