IPAM Executive Failover Appliances by Cygna Labs Corp enable single command activation of the backup system for rapid automated failover. Diamond IP products offer high availability options for Sapphire appliance models, including Sapphire Executive (EX) appliances. A backup EX deployed locally or geographically supports redundancy through transactional database replication. While the outage of an EX appliance does not affect deployed DHCP/DNS services, it impacts administrators' ability to make changes. A redundant EX allows for rapid automated failover. Deployed DHCP and DNS services detect the change in available EX and connect to active systems. Administrators can log in to the backup EX seamlessly due to DNS configuration. The Sapphire EMA supports continuous monitoring of primary and backup EX systems, automatically initiating failover to prevent flapping. Administrators can define failover conditions and receive alerts for faults and failover events. These criteria define sets that determine what services constitute a 'down' state. One or more sets, each with one or more services and corresponding states, may be defined. Detection of any criteria set match indicates a 'down' state. Criteria include the state of each major Executive service or daemon.
