The reading of the electronic identity verification (eID) is a reliable procedure for online and on-site reading of ID data according to §18 and §18a PAuswG for the German identity card, as well as according to §78 Abs. 5 AufenthG for residence permits and according to §12 eIDKG for the eID card for Union citizens. Before reading the data, it is verified whether the person presenting the ID document is also the cardholder. This is done on-site by an employee or during online identification using the personal ID PIN. A GwG-compliant digital identification can be carried out using the German identity card, the residence permit, or the eID card for EU citizens according to the specified legal sections. The retention obligations resulting from this identification process according to § 8 Abs. 2 Satz 5 require the service and card-specific identifier, which we provide with the identification data. The electronic identity verification (eID), residence permit (eAT), and eID card for EU citizens are permissible methods for identifying individuals under § 111 TKG, such as for activating SIM cards.
