The FPC1553 is a third-generation slim, side-mounted capacitive touch fingerprint sensor. This sensor is smaller than its predecessors, the FPC1542 and FPC1552, supporting easier integration into various device designs. The sensor enables implementation in modern smartphone designs, including borderless and foldable phones. Beyond fingerprint authentication, the sensor can function as a power button, volume control, camera shutter button, and scrolling interface. The curved, slim form factor allows for integration into different device designs and can be coated in various colors to match device aesthetics. The FPC1553 has been integrated into smartphones including the Honor X40i, Moto g32, and Vivo Y77.
