T5-FaceLink is a biometric-based digital security feature designed to protect facial images on printed identity documents and visas from alteration or substitution. It utilizes a printable, high-density 2D code generated during document issuance that contains a biometric face representation derived from the original photograph, alongside a cryptographic digital signature to assert document authenticity.
Verifiers use a mobile application to scan the document, automatically comparing the face template stored in the 2D code against a newly generated template extracted from the printed photo. The solution operates entirely offline without requiring access to external databases, preventing identity fraud in both physical inspections and remote eKYC onboarding scenarios.
