EncryptDisc by DataLocker is a self-contained, recordable optical media solution designed for secure data storage, backup, and transfer. Available in CD, DVD, Blu-ray, and M-DISC formats with capacities ranging from 700 MB to 100 GB, the product utilizes a NIST-certified cryptographic module to provide FIPS 140-2 Level 1 compliant AES 256-bit encryption. The media includes an embedded application that executes automatically on compatible Windows operating systems to manage password configuration, file management, and disc authoring without requiring administrative privileges or third-party software. To restrict unauthorized access and copying, discs can be finalized as writable or read-only, and any extracted files retain their native encryption. While DataLocker discontinued development and updates for the software on March 31, 2022, existing EncryptDisc media remains operational using standard disc-writing hardware.
