east-tec SafeBit is a disk encryption software that protects data against unauthorized access and information leaks. It creates virtual disk drives to hide and keep files and folders encrypted while allowing normal file operations. east-tec SafeBit uses the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with a 256-bit key size, which is the US Federal Government standard for protecting personal and commercial information. It enables users to safeguard data on removable devices or in the cloud, allowing transfer of encrypted safes via email, upload, or backup to external hard drives, USB sticks, smart cards, or cloud services like Dropbox, Microsoft SkyDrive, or Google Drive.
