DSHA2-256 by Digital Core Design is a hash and HMAC functions accelerator that efficiently accelerates SHA2-256 hash with HMAC mode. It bridges to APB, AHB, AXI bus and is compliant with FIPS PUB 180-4. DSHA2-256 computes message digest in either mode with input message length up to 2^64 - 1 bit. It natively supports SHA2-256 HMAC (Keyed-Hash Message Authentication Code) as defined in RFC 2104. DSHA2-256 is suitable for data integrity verification in digital signature protocols and secure communication. It can also be used in cryptocurrency computations. DSHA2-256 offers a context-swapping feature for complex systems with a task's preemption mechanism. It processes 512-bit input blocks during 64 rounds, producing a fixed 256 or 224 bit length digest from arbitrary length input messages in a way that makes it practically infeasible to invert. The cryptographic security of DSHA2-256 is assumed at a 128-bit level (112-bit for SHA2-224), making it suitable for security applications.
