The DataLocker DL3 FE is a hardware-encrypted external USB storage device in the DL3 series, available in 500 GB to 4 TB HDD and SSD capacities. Equipped with a FIPS 140-2 Level 1 validated cryptographic chip, the drive features a capacitive LCD touch screen for user interaction and delivers approximate read and write speeds of 105 MB/s and 110 MB/s. Security and access control mechanisms include configurable administrator and user passwords, strong password enforcement, optional two-factor authentication via RFID tags, and a device self-destruct initialization function. The storage device is managed through a dedicated configurator tool and centrally administered via SafeConsole for Windows and macOS, which provides offline operational support through ZoneBuilder certificates. It offers cross-platform compatibility, including Citrix Ready certification for XenDesktop and XenApp virtual environments, alongside limited Linux functionality. The DL3 FE has reached End of Life (EOL) and End of Support (EOS) status, requiring its final non-downgradable firmware and software updates to be installed via a physical Windows 10 64-bit system.
