Logz.io Distributed Tracing provides Jaeger as a fully managed service. The product supports open source instrumentation libraries, including OpenTracing, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, and Zipkin. It provides a UI powered by Jaeger for distributed tracing. Users can search for traces by filtering for service, operation, tags, trace duration, and timeframe. The product enables correlation of logs and traces by searching for logs with relevant trace IDs in the Log Management product and uses Kibana's visualization capabilities to analyze trace data. It includes trace visualization to map latency throughout application requests, service overview for surfacing application performance metrics, and service map to visualize data flow and dependencies. The product supports configurable alerts for metrics like average latency and maximum latency. It natively integrates with OpenTelemetry Protocol. Distributed tracing helps pinpoint where failures occur and identify contributors to slow transactions or poor transaction performance. The product provides the ability to examine how microservices interact with each other and access information to improve performance, investigate, and troubleshoot issues.
