Immuta Discover is a data discovery and classification platform designed for modern data ecosystems. The product provides an inventory of available data, categorized by sensitivity and purpose, with classification performed at the column level. It identifies schema changes and performs analysis and processing directly within data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks, utilizing the scalability of those platforms to analyze large datasets. Data remains within the originating platform during processing and does not move across cloud regions. The platform uses pattern analysis to determine data types and assigns tags to the data dictionary based on identification frameworks. It operates through three phases: identification of data through manual input, external catalog integration, or automatic pattern analysis; categorization of data in context; and classification. Continuous schema monitoring tracks schema changes to maintain access controls and data security. The product supports access decisions and provides metadata about connected data sources to populate the metadata registry.
