Device Validation Tool by ThinScale helps hiring and IT teams assess the suitability of a candidate’s device for BYOD deployments. It is deployed to a candidate’s device by the IT team via a link, which can be hosted on a hiring portal or sent directly to candidates. When Device Validation Tool runs, it scans the device and relays required device and network information (available RAM, internet speed, etc.) back to the IT team. It runs on any Windows-based x86 device and can be used to scan both trusted and untrusted machines. This speeds up hiring and onboarding by allowing HR to focus on candidates with suitable devices and reducing IT time, as most troubleshooting is handled by the hire early on. Device Validation Tool is available as a standalone license. The ThinScale Management Platform is required to view the information it provides, but it's included in the price. Device Validation Tool is an executable that runs on the machine without installing anything extra. After the scan, the executable can be removed immediately. Scanning a device typically takes 2-3 minutes, depending on the device and the number of rules set by the IT team. All ThinScale solutions are regularly pen-tested and help maintain compliance with PCI DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR.
