The DataLocker DL450 FE is a TAA-compliant, hardware-encrypted external drive designed for professional data storage. Available in solid-state drive (SSD) capacities from 1 TB to 15.3 TB and hard disk drive (HDD) configurations of 1 TB and 2 TB, the device connects via a USB-C interface. SSD models support data transfer speeds up to 250 MB/s, while HDD versions provide up to 150 MB/s read and 100 MB/s write speeds. The physical enclosure is built to MIL-STD-810H and IP67 standards for environmental protection against dust and water, and it includes an epoxy-coated interior alongside a Kensington security slot. The drive is compatible with Windows and macOS and is supported by a three-year limited hardware warranty.
The device secures data using AES-XTS 256-bit encryption and onboard key generation, featuring Common Criteria EAL5+ certification and a pending FIPS 140-3 Level 3 validation. It supports multiple authentication protocols, including passwords, biometric options like Windows Hello and Touch ID, and smart cards such as CAC, PIV, and YubiKey PIV. Security mechanisms include a brute-force defense that erases data after consecutive failed access attempts and NIST SP 800-88 compliant on-demand cryptographic erasure. For organizational deployment, the DL450 FE integrates with the SafeConsole platform, enabling centralized management functions such as device tracking, remote lock and wipe capabilities, password enforcement, and audit logging.
