DataDefender by Cloud Storage Security is a cloud-native data security posture management platform for AWS storage services including Amazon S3, EBS, EFS, and FSx. The platform discovers and inventories storage resources across multi-account, multi-region environments, maps file composition, and classifies sensitive data through in-tenant scanning without data movement. It performs malware detection using signature-based detection from Casmer Labs and behavioral anomaly analysis to identify patterns such as mass deletions, mass downloads, off-hours access, multi-stage attacks, and API misuse. The platform leverages AWS native telemetry including CloudTrail, Config, GuardDuty, and Security Hub, and consolidates monitoring, classification, and protection functions into a single interface. It provides a searchable query engine for real-time forensic investigation of reads, writes, deletes, configuration changes, and user, role, and account actions, with exportable results. Deployment is performed via a single CloudFormation template requiring no agents or additional infrastructure. DataDefender supports incident response workflows aligned with NIST 800-61 Rev. 3 for containment, investigation, and recovery, and delivers structured, exportable findings for compliance, audit, and breach mitigation with continuous posture visibility and exposure management at scale through status assignment and bulk actions.
