Cisco Secure Workload is a security platform that provides visibility into and protection for application workloads across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. It utilizes agent-based and agentless data collection to monitor network traffic and process activity on bare-metal servers, virtual machines, and containers. The system maps application dependencies, establishes a baseline of normal behavior, and collects a software inventory to identify vulnerabilities. Based on this analysis, it automatically generates microsegmentation policies using an allow-list model, which can be simulated for impact before enforcement. Policies are applied consistently across heterogeneous infrastructure using native operating system and cloud platform controls to restrict communication, detect anomalies, and alert on policy violations. The platform also retains detailed telemetry, providing a forensic record of all workload activity for investigation and auditing.
