BotGuard GateKeeper by BotGuard is a protective reverse proxy built around BotGuard bot and hacker detection technology. It uses a customized Nginx web server to proxy requests from the outer web to your server, hiding it from bots and hacker attacks. BotGuard GateKeeper manages your website SSL certificate, issuing a new one upon changing the DNS record or allowing you to upload your own. It supports various SSL certificate vendors and may enable HTTP/3 (QUIC) protocol with TLS 1.3 encryption and optimized security settings. BotGuard GateKeeper mitigates DDoS attacks by limiting simultaneous connections and request rates. A visitor triggering protection rules will be blacklisted for 1 hour, unable to send new requests. It blocks packets from private IPv4 subnets by default, but these networks may be used by cloud providers. The file /etc/iptables/rules.v4 contains rules to ignore some subnets when using certain cloud services. Adjust these settings when using custom VPC networks. BotGuard GateKeeper supports multiple clouds including AWS, Digital Ocean, and Vultr, hosting providers, and enterprise-level infrastructures. It provides bot mitigation, web application firewall (WAF), and content scraping prevention. It protects your website by installing a web server extension module (for Apache or NGINX), a CMS plugin (WordPress), or a hosting panel plugin (cPanel, Plesk, or DirectAdmin).
