AutoCrypt LCM is a local certificate manager component that is part of AUTOCRYPT's V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) security solution, designed for message encryption and certificate management in V2X communications. The LCM stores and handles digital certificates received from the Security Credential Management System (SCMS). It runs each certificate through the local certificate revocation list (CRL) to ensure that only messages from trusted entities are opened. The LCM stores and manages all certificates verified and signed within the V2X PKI ecosystem, which reduces the computation load of the local unit and enables faster message transmission. AutoCrypt LCM supports encryption and decryption work as part of the security module embedded in V2X end entities. It is embedded in the chipset of V2X end entities such as On-Board Units (OBUs) and Roadside Units (RSUs). When combined with AutoCrypt PKI and the software development kit installed locally into OBUs, AutoCrypt LCM forms part of a V2X security solution for autonomous driving.
