The REDDOXX Appliance is a virtual machine platform that hosts REDDOXX software solutions for email management and security, including email archiving, encryption, and spam protection. Deployed as an ISO file on various hypervisors within an existing IT infrastructure, it operates behind a corporate firewall as an independent Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) and internal SMTP gateway. The appliance is designed to function without reliance on dedicated local hardware and handles direct email routing via MX-Records.
The system's architecture supports standardized configurations like directory service synchronization and multi-domain setups for routing distinct domains to different internal mail servers. For operational management and continuity, it includes a centralized Diagnosis Center, a built-in Watchdog for self-monitoring, and support for redundant cluster deployments with transparent failover. The platform also integrates with external storage systems.
