Antivirus for Amazon S3 by Cloud Storage Security is an in-tenant scanning solution that operates within the customer's AWS environment to detect malware, ransomware, trojans, and other malicious payloads in objects stored in Amazon S3. The solution provides real-time, scheduled, and on-demand scanning capabilities without moving data outside the customer's account, employing multiple antivirus engines—including CISA-approved engines—with continuously updated threat intelligence and daily malware definition updates. It supports scanning of large files and legacy objects, offers data classification to identify sensitive content, and automatically quarantines malicious or sensitive files. The product extends to additional AWS storage services including Amazon EBS, EFS, and FSx, and integrates with AWS Security Hub, AWS Transfer Family, and SIEM solutions.
The solution is designed to assist organizations in meeting regulatory and compliance requirements across frameworks such as PCI DSS, GLBA, SOX, NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, MPA Best Practices, and TPN through detection, tagging, automated compliance reporting, and audit-ready reporting of findings. It supports deployment in AWS GovCloud and is applicable to public sector, media, and other regulated workloads. Optional add-ons include a premium scanning engine, Sophos integration, and premium support options.
